
Clevedon Adult Studies Association (CASA) is all about learning, just for the fun of it.
From music to history, literature to architecture, art to the natural world...
Dive into your favourite topics, or explore something new.
There are no entry requirements, qualifications, exams, or league tables.
We want learning to be a social, pleasant and encouraging activity.
We are a non-profit making registered charity run by a small group of volunteers.

Can anyone join a CASA course? Are they for me?
The courses are suitable for people who are happy to have their rusty brain cells lubricated and exercised.
Adults of any age are welcome.
What are the courses like?

The courses are run by professional tutors.
What is the course fee?
The fee for each course, shown on the course listing, is used to pay the tutor and hire the venue. It is kept as low as is feasible since we do not seek to make a profit. For those on income related benefits, courses may be free.

How long are the courses?
Courses range from day schools, to two hour sessions over several weeks.
Where are they held?
Clevedon Community Centre and Friends Meeting House, in the beautiful town of Clevedon in North Somerset.
How many people will be on the course with me?
Group size varies according to the nature of the course. Numbers are set to ensure a comfortable learning environment and to allow ample opportunity for discussion, debate and participation.

You can book multiple courses at the same time and payment can be made via credit or debit card.
In exceptional circumstances, you may be able to book offline by bank transfer. However, your booking may be delayed as it will depend on a volunteer being available.

You will need to bring your own refreshments as there is no café.

You will need to bring lunch and your own tea/coffee and milk for use during the day. Hot water will be available.

Please bring your own refreshments and lunch to this venue. We have access to a kitchen so you can make your own tea/coffee, but there are no nearby food outlets or restaurants and probably not enough time at lunch to go in search.

Attending your course

Please refer to the specific course (via Explore Courses) for details of any pre-reading which would enhance your enjoyment of the course.

For craft courses, you may be asked to bring useful items or materials.

Please make sure that you take all your belongings home with you.
How to cancel your course place

Participants wishing to cancel a course should provide written notice to CASA, by email to casa2012clevedon@gmail.com

Notice must be made at least 7 days in advance of the course.

A participant who is unable to attend may nominate a substitute to take their place provided that CASA is informed at the earliest possible opportunity.
Refund eligibility

A refund may be given if there is a waiting list for the course, and adequate notice is given.

Participants may request to transfer their course booking to another course within the same financial year (Sept - August).

Non-Attendance: Failure to attend a course without adequate notice will be treated as a cancellation with no refund or transfer option.
CASA cancellations
On rare occasions, CASA needs to cancel a course. Participants will be offered the following options:

A full refund

Credit towards another course in the same financial year (Sept - August)
Special considerations
Requests for exceptions to standard policy will be considered on a case by case basis.
We recognise that emergencies and unexpected situations can occur.
